TAILORED TRAINING FOR COMPANIES

Look beyond first impressions in a multicultural team.

The same behaviour can carry different meanings for different people. Direct feedback may feel useful to one colleague and uncomfortable to another. Speaking less in a meeting may reflect expectations about hierarchy, the need for thinking time or something else entirely. Understanding begins with asking rather than deciding too quickly.

ProContext cultural awareness training explores how expectations influence everyday cooperation. Born in Iran and with a career in the Netherlands, Nima brings personal experience of working across perspectives. Participants are encouraged to explore their own assumptions, learn about one another and translate those insights into more thoughtful communication.

Cultural awareness

What your team will work on.

Who it’s for

International and multicultural teams, their leaders, and organisations bringing colleagues from different backgrounds together.

MAKE IT REAL

Silence doesn’t always mean disengagement.

A colleague says little in a meeting. Could expectations about hierarchy play a role? Drawing on Nima’s cultural awareness discussions, participants explore how to invite contributions, ask without assuming and make space for different ways of participating.

FROM TOPIC TO PRACTICE

What can your cultural awareness workshop cover?

01

Recognising assumptions

Separate what you observe from the meaning you attach to it. Explore alternative explanations for workplace behaviour and practise questions that help you understand a colleague’s perspective.

02

Hierarchy and participation

Discuss expectations about authority, disagreement and speaking up. Explore ways to invite contributions while recognising that silence alone does not tell you what someone thinks.

03

Feedback across cultures

Consider how directness, context and the relationship can affect a message. Practise discussing feedback preferences and choosing how and where to raise an issue with a colleague.

04

Building trust across differences

Make space to learn about one another’s working habits and expectations. Explore shared agreements for meetings, questions and feedback that help an international team cooperate.

THREE AREAS. ONE HUMAN APPROACH.

Start with the challenge your team is facing. Together, we shape a workshop that makes it practical, personal and relevant.

FROM UNDERSTANDING TO DOING

Learning that lives beyond the workshop.

A presentation can start a conversation. Real practice changes it. Nima combines storytelling, reflection and interaction to help people try a different way of working together.

  1. 01

    Your context first

We start with your people, their working environment and the conversations that need to change.

  2. 02

    Practise, don’t just listen

Real workplace situations, role-play and open discussion turn ideas into experiences.

  3. 03

    Take it back to work

Participants leave with practical tools and personal actions to try with their colleagues.

MEET YOUR FACILITATOR

An engineer’s understanding. A facilitator’s human touch.

I’m Nima Sagharichiha, founder of ProContext. Born in Iran and shaped by a career in the Netherlands, I know what it means to find connection across different perspectives.

My journey took me from engineering and process improvement at ASML to coaching and facilitating. Since founding ProContext in 2017, I’ve helped people explore leadership, communication and culture in a way that connects to their everyday work.

Expect inspiring stories, honest conversations and plenty of participation. I create space for people to learn from one another, not just from me.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS

What participants take away.

Nima understands the power of storytelling and knows how to connect to the group. He was able to share the training content tailored to the group and handed out tools to take the content back to the workfloor. More important, during the training he created an atmosphere of trust and interaction.

Questions about cultural awareness training

Who benefits from cultural awareness training?

International teams, managers working across cultures and colleagues collaborating with people from different backgrounds. The workshop can include both Dutch and international colleagues so they learn from one another.

Does the training teach rules about each nationality?

The focus is on curiosity and understanding, not assigning a fixed communication style to everyone from a country. Cultural expectations are explored alongside individual preferences, experience and the working context.

Can we focus on Dutch and international workplace expectations?

Yes. Tell Nima which situations your team encounters in the Netherlands. Feedback, hierarchy and participation can be explored through those situations without assuming that every Dutch or international colleague thinks alike.

Can cultural awareness and communication be combined?

Yes. Cultural expectations often become visible in conversations. A tailored programme can combine reflection on cultural differences with practical listening, feedback and collaboration exercises.

Can we discuss training in English or Dutch?

Yes. Get in touch in English or Dutch, and we’ll discuss the language and format that best fit your participants.

How do we arrange a workshop?

Email Nima or send a message on LinkedIn with a little about your team and what you want to work on. Together, you can discuss the scope, timing, location and proposal.
